Some lower-risk asbestos materials may legally be removed under specific circumstances, but many asbestos removal activities require specialist training, equipment and controls. Attempting to remove asbestos without proper knowledge can increase the risk of fibre release and exposure.

The duration of a survey depends on the size and complexity of the property. Most domestic surveys can be completed within a few hours, while larger commercial or industrial sites may require additional time. Survey reports are typically issued shortly after laboratory analysis has been completed.

If asbestos-containing materials are identified, recommendations will be provided based on their condition, location and risk level. In many cases, asbestos can be safely managed in place. Where materials present a risk, repair, encapsulation or removal may be recommended.
